SAWYER COUNTY JAIL WEBSITE INFORMATION

One of the primary duties of the Office of the Sheriff is the management of the jail. There are two parts to the Sawyer County Sheriff's Department correctional facility:  The Secure Area and the Huber Facility. The Sawyer County Jail is a 86-bed facility with remote supervision housing pods. The County Jail is a maximum-security facility which houses male and female, pre-trial and sentenced offenders. The Sheriff's Department also operates the Huber Law or work release facility. Inmates confined at the Huber Facility are allowed out of the facility for the purpose of work, education, child or elder care and treatment purposes.

County Jail - Public Visitation (Guidelines and Schedule)
Participation in the video visitation program will be allowed for any member of the general public during normal visiting hours (8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday except during meal times)

The Jail  does not allow inmate visitation for the general public on Monday, Saturday or Sunday. 

 

 

 

 

Text Box: When the inmate is booked in, he/she is given a visitor request form. If you want to be put on the inmate’s visiting list, you must tell the inmate your full name (including middle name) and date of birth. Without this information, we cannot approve you as a visitor on their list. The inmate must put you on their list. This is their responsibility. To set up a visit, call (715) 634-9120 between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM Monday thru Friday only. State that you would like to set up a visit, give your name and the inmate’s name. If you do not show up to the visit, it will still count against the number of visits an inmate is allowed for the week. How many visits an inmate gets per week depends on his/her classification. Visiting hours are Tuesday thru Friday, 8:30-11:00 and also from 12:30 to 3:00. There is no visiting on Holidays. . .

If you wish to send correspondence through the mail to someone in custody at the Waukesha County Jail, please address the envelope in the following manner:

Inmate Account Deposits:
Cashier's check or money orders are to be sent to the above noted address.  The inmate's name is to be included on the document and mailing envelope. Do not send cash through the U. S. mail. The public may drop off money for inmates at the reception window from      8:00 am to 3:45 pm Monday through Friday.

NEW: The Sawyer County Jail has the capability to accept credit card deposits into an inmate’s canteen accounts through the internet. Go to www.jailatm.com and follow the online instructions to make a deposit. NOTE: There is a service fee of $2.50 or 10% (whichever is larger).

Bond Posting:
During normal business hours, bail set in a Sawyer County Criminal/Traffic Court may be posted in the Sawyer County Courthouse, Clerk of Courts Office.  All other bail postings will be handled through the Sheriff's Department.  The Department accepts cash, money orders, cashier's checks, Visa and MasterCard.
